if anyone has sold any 12/12 masterworked items - big mistake!

I just realized you can salvage and get all your neathiron / other mats back from your masterworking.

you get 550 / 270 / 100 (all the mats you spent to upgrade it from 0/12 to 12/12) when you salvage.
