I have a crazy Thorns build with 2GA razorplate, max cdr, max resist, 150k hp (no doombringer), and perfect thorns tempers (masterwork 8-12 everything).

I can clear pit 100 mobs no problem and my thorns hits them for 8-24m aoe damage. However, I see robs video where it can 1 hit bosses but I can hardly touch bosses even when standing in 5 earthquakes fully buffed.

Is there something I am missing because there is no way im hitting 1-4billion like in the videos.

rob is an idiot that copy-pastes Chinese builds, poorly at that.

to get billions the boss needs to spawn multiple ads

You need to learn when each boss attacks, also most projectile and some aoe affects from the boss will trigger thorns. Then you need to time your fortify/berserk/ChallengingShout window for the attack (multi projectile attacks work well). Try to get minimum 10 quakes up aswell, 5 is not much.
Also as was pointed out above me the easiest way to kill something big is to get a lot of little things to attack you next to it.
