I am just curious on how Diablo 4 feels in terms of that diablo feeling. I have played Diablo 1, 2, LOD, 3, and 4. For some reason, out of all of the Diablo games, 4 does not quite feel like Diablo. I cannot quite put my finger on it, but it just doesn't feel like diablo. I also played Immortal, and maybe it just feels too close to that, because Immortal definitely did not feel like Diablo.

Wondering if I am the only one on this, but something is missing.

D3 didn't feel like diablo, because it was deliberately made to not be like d2

D3 and by extension D4 may as well have a totally different name on it and have very little in common with d1 or d2

Too me Diablo 1 felt like it's own game and so forth as it should be imo, videos games have progressed.

Reason that it doesn’t feel like old school diablo is because it’s more like ” MMORPG ” ” Open World ” if we compare to Diablo 1 & Diablo 2 hack n slash, grind, loot repeat principle.

These days kids are probablo more familar to some WoW than old school diablo, and since Blizzard is a publicly traded company, its mission is to generate maximum profit for its shareholders, and it is easier to sell games to today's children than to older players

only time it felt like diablo is when i was killing uber andariel and duriel

the game's fluidity with skills and char movement is really well done though, it's fun to just hop on and play without thinking too much.

yeah exactly. this game is so good atm just to hop on and have a few hours of fun without thinking too much at all. it plays well without too much planning and strats (hey Poe I still like you but sometimes I’ve just had enough)

yeah same. my brain is still itching for that, but holy tits batman after 11 years of poe, it's just overwhelming at times..

i think d4 has a big market grab there. if they can spice up itemization and make it even better, might even grab more
