I play the blizzard/glacial ice spike build and I'm wondering if anyone else does and chooses damage to close over ice spike damage. I thought ice spikes would be better but a build guide says damage to close but doesn't even acknowledge ice spikes and I don't understand why. Is there some hidden cap for ice spikes or does it calculate differently? I crit for about 600k with spikes then around 500k with close.

Good question. Due to blizzard dmg comes in the form of the ice spikes. I to would think spikes dmg would be better. I’m intrigued to know the answer as well

there may be a way. we always have to believe, no matter what. i asked a man walking his dog for a dollar the other day. not only did the man give me a dollar, he gave me a lesson. sometimes the best way to help a man is to help a man. thats all we can do. hence the mittens lol. but anyway, pizza doesnt matter if you dont like the bigger picture

Ice spikes. I found a better build elsewhere that seemed more up to date and have crits for 1.2M now. Probably always going to be a B tier build but it's great for mobs.

i havent played a glacial sorc since s1, but i remember stacking close damage was the best option. my sorc used to crit around 8m per blizzard back then
