How hard can it be to take a good look at Diablo 2, what made it great; take all the good stuff and use it for Diablo 4 ?!
Sigh.. #AllHopeIsLostForD4 .
this 1000% . the only thing d3 needed, before they forced the franchise into a downwards spiral, was to literally copy themselves. and d3 should of added onto what d2 was, and d4 should of added onto what d3 should have been.
just the simple fact that runewords were not in d3 absolutely boggles my mind.

There was no cash shop before, that is why. All focus were basically designing a perfect game.
But now, half the focus is monetizing from cash shop with dirty schemes.
lol, not true. i highly doubt that the amount of time invested in making a cash shop really takes away from making the rest of the game any good.
the issue with d4s monetization is simply that the game sucks... at the same time that they aggressively force it on us. im not a fan of microtransactions, but i think most players can easily look past the shop, if the game is actually worth playing and there's no pay2win.
im generalizing, but for me there are 2 main reasons why i think d4 is in the state that it is in...
- their devs seriously dont understand what actually makes an arpg good. what actually makes us want to come back day after day, or ladder after ladder (fuck seasons, theyre called ladders you muppets). this looks after alot of things like itemization, open trading, build diversity, risk/reward structure etc... all of which d4 fails at.
- they attempted to develop a game to please everyone and therefore no one is happy. and for the most part, casuals now are done with this shit show too.
