since i found myself dying often in nm 95-100, i decided to try on my bl sorc the vampiric power that gives fortify
it works damn well, i'm not dying anymore
now should i remove rubies in my armor/pants/helm for sapphires?

I think that is really up to you and how you feel the build is performing.
If you feel that you have enough fortify and that the loss of health will not heavily impact the build, then go for it!

It feels like an equal trade-off to me.

when i read fortified sorc, i imagined some sorc wearing a shield and having like 20 different buffs

It's just 10% damage reduction (multiplicative). Other classes like barbs can scale through fortify to get more reduction. There are better vampiric power to use for sorc. I am using armor%/dr armor with damage reduction aspect to not be oneshotted in nms tier100

jsut get uber unique amulet and go for immortal sorc build and u can't die pretty much xD

it's not just 10, it's 25 with sapphires and i just lose 1 vampiric power
imo it's great especially now with aoz, there are ofc better options but i feel just fine with it
