Looking to start my second character. first one was infinimst necro finished the build.
Debating which one to start second character?
Is BL tanky or easy to die at high level push? Is Hota barb quick on speed farming? Thanks for the advice

Both have their own advantages and disadvantages. I have both, I use my BL on helltide for speed, while I used my HotA for t90-100 dungeons, because you can one shot the boss, including Duriel.

Both are extremely OP. So choose which playstyle fits you

HotA = more damage, better boss killer

BL sorc = better mobility

I think HotA is the stronger build

BL if you're into speed

They’re probably the 2-best builds in the game atm. I prefer Hota probably because I’m a simpleton. Shout>bonk.

It’ll be interesting to see which class pushes higher in AoZ.

BL is also basically 1-shot boss equivalent after min/max. If you dont want to completely min/max I'd go HotA. If you gonna completely min/max Ball is better w current content. New content in December may change that

If your definition of “1-shot” is killing Duriel before he burrows or phasing Uber Lilith to avoiding doing waves, then yes Ball Lightning can do that.

I think most people’s definition of a 1shot is an instant kill from a single hit and those bosses definitely don’t die to a single ball lightning even if min/max’ed to the tits.

naw my definition was "basically 1-shot boss equivalent" ... min/max ball kills dur just as fast as the hota
