in d2r, ppls buy runes that farmers got using whatever stuff they were using. we use fg to buy those runes and it's very common in d2r that people buy stuff with fg or even with real cash. i've never heard of ppls getting banned for buying those farmed items, so why does ppls who bought items get ban in d4? isn't banning people who were using whatever method they are using to produce items unlegimately enough? honestly, unless sellers are selling unrealistically large amount, there is no way items or gold are produced in legit way for regular users to know in game. if trading item for unlegimately earned gold is getting banned, then i don't know what to do. it's blizzard's fault in first place to let such cheat/bug existed in first place.
there is only one absolute solution to this:
dont pay for games you dont own, because the owner could restrict your access to it for any or no reason

some would say dont even play games you dont own even if you dont have to buy them (e.g. poe), as even though you dont lose money, you still lose products of your work and no one likes that

are you right? yeah. game rules allow trading, at least of certain things. if you do that, you shouldnt get banned because what you did was within the rules, its not up to you to check if an item is duped or whatever. and even if it is, you didnt dupe it yourself so i wouldnt ban even for this. but they can do that because for some reason PEOPLE STILL COME BACK AND BUY THE SAME SHIT GAME AGAIN

players are the reason this works, because they allow for it
this wasnt a problem in d2 because d2 relied on a stable pvp scene as a base, so banning people with duped items or bots would lose money (providing it could have been checked for, as said in this thread already)
