Long term diablo fan, only got d4 a few days ago and just wondering if there are some MUST DO's except reading some guides etc before starting season 2?

Such as finishing campaign on S1 (i still havent finished it lol).......

P.S. Won't be using my battlepass for season 1, no point right?

This. Open up a YouTube video and spend a few hours grabbing all the altars!

once the campaign has been completed, you can skip it in upcoming seasons, so i would finish it if i were you.

is there any benefit of completing it, or any hinderance to get the ball rolling if i didn't?

I believe you must complete the campaign to actually skip it

xp/leveling is substantially worse if you do campaign, so finish it/skip it when you make s2 character.
i played for like a week to hit 100 at s1 start, didnt touch til just now (to get all 5 regions fully completed) cause they're fixing renown rewards (so do them so you get all 5 completed, then never touch renown again)

i got the minimum renown needed to get the +2 skill points per region, so i can start the season with 10 skill points at level 1. Basically did the strongholds, got all the waypoints and got some of the lilith statues plus a few dungeons.

Not sure if its worth to do before the patch though, seeing that they are changing the dungeons to be less annoying, ie: less backtracking, freeing prisioners, etc.

I would at least explore most of the map and get the waypoints. Cause they are buffing the exp from world events, so just running around and doing legion events and stuff like that will be a good way to level up.

All the things about renown (altars etc etc.)
You must have all the 20 paragon points ready.
