Game is very likely still boring, dead, waste of your money and yada-yada. But I enjoy reading the patch notes.

https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/diablo4/23964909/diablo-iv-patch-notes

First of all, resistances are finally meaningful, the way it should've been from the beginning:

Quote
Prior to Season of Blood, Resistances stacked inverse multiplicatively, with each additional source of resistance becoming less effective.

Starting with Season of Blood, Resistances will now stack additively. Additionally, resistance stats now cap at 70%.

Resistances now contribute their full value to Non-physical Damage Reduction.

Abusing armor and damage reduction in general will also be fixed:

Quote
Non-physical Damage Reduction from Armor and Resistances are no longer split.

Armor no longer contributes to Non-physical Damage Reduction and now only reduces damage against Physical damage.

Now enormously unbalanced damage buckets, so that people stop one-shotting Uber Lilith just because "it's math":

Quote
[...] we are changing how Critical Strike, Vulnerable, and Overpower damage is calculated. These damage types will now always have a baseline multiplicative bonus. Additional sources of bonus Critical Strike Damage, Vulnerable Damage, or Overpower Damage will be additive to your other damage bonuses.

impressive patchnotes yes, all in the right direction, not sure if its enough right now but if they keep at it there's hope for the future of the game.

The biggest change is this IMO.
Ancestral:
Previous Range: 725–820
New Range: 780–925

Now we have a new chase to find 925 IP items

I’m curious to see how these changes play out. Fixing resistances isn’t bad in a vacuum, I’m definitely concerned though it’s going to lead to a weird situation since we’re so limited by the current affix/itemization system where you need a separate pair of pants or whatever for each area/dungeon so you can stack resist which would be obnoxious AF.

Also concerned about the crit/vuln changes. Not bad in a vacuum, but for instance as someone whose favorite class is Druid basically all their true endgame builds (not bugged bulwark) we’re balanced around the concept of rampaging werebeast getting to 900%+ crit damage. Both the rampaging werebeast changes and crit changes have nerfed them far more so than really any other class (maybe the Wolfnado build was too strong though… idk).

We’ll see I guess… they say they hired playtesters finally. The changes are likely good for the long term if they continue to try and improve. I definitely think there will be some shorter term annoyances and issues though as they continue to go through growing pains.

The new barb, rogue and Druid uniques look potentially cool though.

Changes to crit/ vul are shadowed by improved monster/ player level scaling. This will probably be worked on and patched a few times till they get it right this season

Played POE like 1 month, did 1 week break and had nothing to play and now I am playing POE.

I highly recommend Factorio but idk if u like these types of games, Zizaran and someone else was checking out Undecember to see if it's still P2W, apparently it still is. When it comes to me all I have is Poe, Factorio, I guess there is Last Epoch and technically Baldurs Gate 3 which bored me, just not my type of game

I'm seriously considering Grim Dawn. Heard way too many good things about it.
