In D2 you know you can make good profit when a new season starts - if you know what you are doing even without any drop luck required.

You can sell socket quests early on, sell perfect gems, mid runes, bases and thats it.

I know Diablo is not primarily about making profit. You can see by looking at my fg count that I myself am also not all about profit - but it for sure is a big motivation every D2 season.

D4 has very restricted trading options and rares arent very juicy overall since all their affixes are conditional anyways. While some of them are more desired than others, its still not very motivating to trade those rare "bases".

The question is: Why would anyone bother to gain a community Head Start in the coming up season? Who cares if you get your ilvl 820 rares a week earlier or not?

Do they not see how this environment is restricting people? The smart Loot environment and the untradable Uniques and aspects create some sort of isolation.

I know ssf is a thing and I enjoy that myself as an OPTION, but not as the only option. I think this is a big, big problem for the game and its longevity.

well
ive been saying for years that fun requires freedom and limiting one limits the other, but ive been called tinfoil and asked for source on my claims
and speaking of tinfoil, blizzards idea of limiting trade is so retarded that it actually couldnt have been a product of stupidity alone, there had to be an agenda behind it. so my tinfoil theory that i still stick to is, blizzard limited trade in order to implement chase items that would need an insane amount of time to grind for (and couldnt be tradeable), and it had nothing to do with "preventing botting" or whatever idiotic PR reason they pulled out of their asses. they wanted people to be forced to play it for a long time, they just didnt expect the game to fail this hard this fast, which is midwit af but okay i guess at least that needed actual gaming experience which not a single member of that company has anymore :(

so yeah you are completely right
but it doesnt matter anymore
picking a flaw like this on a game such as d4 is like looking at detective mumbly's car and saying that the paint job could be better
d4 is fucking dead and its very heartwarming

Making an fg profit or not isn’t the problem with d4. It’s whether the game is actually good or not.

Changes look definitely look like we’re heading in a positive direction, but jury is still out on how good game is/will be (maybe jury isn’t out).

The changes are pretty good, not gonna lie - but as long as itemization is a pile of streaming bullshit, its tough to take those changes seriously.

Nah you can make more fg on d4 than d2. Market drop on d2 is fast and flatlines early

People still paying for gear and services during the last week of season 1

I made 50k easily with out trying.

Probably make 75k this season something I've never don't on d2 in 20 years.
You have to not only know how to make fg in d4 you also need to be good enough to do it. (Services)

There's al so more than jsp to make igg... you need to round up all the trading outlets and spend/ buy appropriately to maximize profits

Exactly why I don't play d2 anymore.

10,000 meph/ pits/ baal runs are no better.. actually worse imo

It's the exact same game. Load up, kill shit, find shit, sell shit.

Or boost people

Even a million meph, pit, or baal runs in D2 are infintely better than all the actions you could do in D4. You know why? Because the loot is actually exciting.

It doesnt matter how much endgame options you have. Its all about how GOOD the content is, not how much it is.

I've found more sellable rares in d4 season 1 than 20 years in d2.

I think you just can't get over D2.

IP925 items is where it's at. Start farming them in S2
