Nothing new happening with the next D2R season, and it's only season 5.

It begs the question how quickly they'll treat Diablo 4 like anthem and just ditch the product because it isn't generating new revenue after initial sales boom. Also D2R had promises of potentially releasing a loot filter in the future. They're using the same tactic with D4 acting like loot filters will ever happen.

The exception usually being games that have high reoccurring revenue otherwise they aren't wasting time on it. So you better pray Diablo 4 continues to have sales and that people buy into their expansion if you want a more viable product. Otherwise all that talk about adding or looking into specific core issues is going in one ear and out the other, as it did with D2R.

Korea event with 1 audience viewer who was streaming event and told to stop,
99% decline in viewers watching d4
Talk about expansions to give more content not just update the game,

Diablo 4 is fucking dead trash.

its obvious their plan was make this game last for 6-7 year with 2-3 expansion, and d5 will be here. ripping money and promotion spending is about only thing blizzard know how to do it perfectly. AAA title no longer interesting, I'm more into playing older game then new one.

to be fair, i think any expectations of a constant flow of new content for d2r is/was unrealistic. the monetization just doesn't support it. im of the opinion that i hope they dont touch it any further for fear of it getting ruined.

at the very least, i hope this is a harsh lesson for blizzard but probably won't change things for the better. but i know i wont pre-purchase any blizzard product ever again.

given that they've already mentioned d5, talk about d4 expansions and announced s2 really early, maybe this game will die out sooner than 2 years and put pressure to get d5 out sooner rather than later... but maybe im being too optimistic... haha.

I think if the first expansion flops in their annual expansion concept, they will abandon the project in terms of team size dedicated. It'll turn into a skeleton crew for minor things like bug fixes if that. Their recent track record shows a history of abandonment with things like overwatch pve and d2r. WoW and CoD continue to get good support because they are constantly generating revenue. Although you couldn't really pay me to play either of those games with how bad their anti-cheat has become.

Hopefully Blizzard enjoys the profits off D4 initial sales, cause they killed the golden goose with this latest turd

Sad thing is diablo is looked at like a garbage name now by players that never experienced the early games at the time of their eras
