I realize no one is playing, and the game is a terrible waste of time and everyone should quit playing.
But if someone was going to keep playing and wanted to earn gold, is there many more options than just clearing nightmares and just going into vendor mode? I kill goblins when I see them, but they aren't exactly loaded.
I thought I was doing good and built up around 20 million, but I went on an enchanting spree and just went through that real fast.

I just sell every rare and salvage the uniques. Not sure if there’s a better method or not, but it works. I’m finally around 60m, but haven’t really started rolling items yet.

/edit also joined a hole with 3 random goblins in it yesterday, was kinda cool.

Here are a few ways to gain money fast:

1. Farm nightmare dungeons that have a "bonus gold" affix
2. Sell all your unneeded sacred/ancestral loot
3. Farm obols or seeds of hatred and then sell the loot gained from these

If you are looking for a "get rich fast" scheme, find yourself a sugar daddy.

I usually just skip the obols quests in dungeons because I am trying to complete as fast as possible, but I will give them a shot for a bit more gold. I switched specs recently so have a ton of Glyphs to level.

Ya unfortunately you already know the best way. High NMDs and sell all the yellows. Make sure to sell the uniques too. 100k to 400k igg per unique.

With reroll costs what they are, the only way to get good rolls is to buy gold. I spent over a billion on only one char and still don’t have great rolls. I was at least able to roll the right stats, but even getting one bad roll of the right stat can cost hundreds of millions per piece. We are just stuck with a stupid system for now.

You should save full stash tabs full of ancestral rare trash, and sell it 1:1 for fg. Then use that fg to buy gold.

3 tabs (50) + an inventory (33) = 183 fg per however many runs it takes you to fill up

183fg can get you 90 million gold

Depending on how fast you can go and and how much space you have, you could easily get 3-500mill a day farming like that.

Way more than vendoring those suckers.

Other option is run services for ppl. You can get like 3-400 fg in 30 mins running a 1-50 and caps service for a full group. 1200/hr for full group high level NMD services. Etc.

Rerolls are expensife AF bro. Just do nm runs and look for a replacement while you sell all your shit lol

Thanks for the help folks, some good ideas. Just thought maybe there was a reason for all the gold not related to duping. I do agree searching for good items with the cost of rerolls is the way to go. I swapped specs so the things I threw away yesterday are the godly items of today.
