Good evening my fellow barn bros!

It seems Starfield is going down the path of Diablo 4 and its not looking good. It would appear that the issues that plague it are also similar to d4, so I was wondering which game do you think was the bigger flop Starfield or d4?

hardly flopped, never really have much anticipation from the first place given the current trend from AAA developer. all the AAA company r just copy paste their old work with new graphic at this point, I have not played an AAA title that were enjoyable since 2012 after mass effect 3. u can put in argument for witcher or elden ring. witcher developer at the time of release of witcher 3 was still kind of a small studio, still game was of dog shit specially at launch with all the bug and u basically immortal once u learned u could literally own the game with toxic/crit build with ice bomb, there literally no build diversity here. and elden ring was boring as shit as with most open world game after first playthrough, specially if u play as mage class literally an fps/tps game.

now that i think about it, you are right that 2012 might have been the death of games too, not just movies  i mean apart from witcher and a few dark souls type games there wasnt really many good games after 2012 (only small difference being that i didnt really like mass effect 3 but was a massive fan of 1 and 2 so i still tried it)

all the AAA studio r being structure in a way like a factory these days, if u look at ubisoft and their open world title. there r fan boi over on youtube made video about them just crank these open world game out like assembly line. the last AC title they sold was soo bad, they r afraid to disclose the number of copies sold. AAA games has no souls, that why when u play them u felt empty. compare to the days I used to play a lot of use map setting game on starcraft broodwar and warcraft 3, I would say I have more fun there then playing any of the current AAA titles.

my feelings as well :( every AAA game feels the same and indeed kinda soulless, which is why i play 20 years old games as well

and it annoys me when people say "oh this is just nostalgia"
no its not, new games are actually shit. they are all made in the same way and i dont like that way <_<

Elden Ring wasn't boring at all. You must have some crazy high standards if you didn't like one of the greatest games in this gen. It was the first game I've felt in a long time created an insane amount of immersion and sense of wonder/exploration. Delving down into the lake of rot was one of the coolest experiences I've had in a game. That game is an example of how true dungeon crawling needs to be in the future. The only problem being after a while you started to see a bit of a pattern to the dungeons, like skyrim ruins, but the variance was quite good. There's glimpses of brilliance in the intricate level design Fromsoft accomplishes in many of it's games. Most other games feel a decade or two behind in comparison to the progression they've made on open world and subterranean exploration. The only downside I noticed is the lack of towns filled with npcs for questing or lore, that's where the game comes up short. Of course that's intentional to make the world more of a mystery and not such a hand holding experience. Just being thrust into a world of untold horrors and abominations.

caught a fromsoft fan boi here, hell nah bruh. last decent game from fromsoft was bloodborne, that another game I would say pretty decent after 2012 the atmosphere in there give me chill to this day. they haven't really made anything new since then. elden ring was just a copy paste of dark souls with an open world map, I played 250 hours into that game. dungeon r repetitive as fuck, so r most of the bosses u fight in those dungeon. I fought many of the same boss couple time over, only thing fun and saving grace from that game was u go in pvp and try to gangbang invader or u try to take on a gang but still the concept was from dark souls 1 nothing new here.
