it's a bad game, I only stick around because I want it to get better, I'm a fan of the franchise, I want it to be the best diablo, it's not though.
so I lurk in the shadows, waiting for my opportunity to pounce. Season 2 seems like a start, changes coming to vulnerability, critical strike, and overpower, but that's not going to be enough.
I need Diablo, the boss. I need the tank classes to do just that, and the squishy to be squishy. I need better itemization, change the rules and redesign the weapon system and allow everyone to use whatever weapon they want, including a shield if the wish.
I need a Barbarian to be able the wield a dagger a staff, a shield, a bow, whatever. I need strength to be a stat every player needs, to use hevlavy gears, dexterity for throwing/bowing, need vitality stat, energy stat.
Will it happen? not likely, but that's why I lurk, in the shadows, waiting, wanting, wishing.
For me I don’t play d2 or d2r or d3 anymore people that say trying to relive nostalgia are just wrong, it’s what diablo 1/ diablo 2 / LOD did for the genre the name it created was not from a mediocre game, so many things could and should have been done differently.
Diablo 2 competitive pvp though community’s made their own ruleset fpk duels are unparalleled when it comes to skill and enjoyment atleast for me,
Chainlocking, wsg, golem stacking, ibs and many other mechanics just made it the real end game for most players that played until later years.
Diablo 4 really didn’t hit the mark, let alone if your just a pvm player without trading it’s just dull the social impact of the game just is not there.
Itemization lack of runewords and no diablo in the game was a super letdown on top of all that, I do really like the cosmetics and lore (some) and cinematics this is where they capitalized yes.
The game feels very incomplete to be called diablo in my eyes,
Poe 2 will basically be the next game to likely shape the genre on a much lower budget.
