What’s peoples guess before game is considered really dead
Not talking about 0 people playing let’s be honest some people probably till play ET on Atari, but how long until the game is considered dead

I think the game is pretty much dead with season 1. It's very hard to hold the attention span of the average gamer now. Twitch viewership and steam analytics kind of point out that players converge on certain game titles and stick with those games and new games have a kind of proving ground past their launch date. Once they haven't proven themselves past a certain date you have a bit of a Halo Infinite situation. They can fix the game but the players are already gone. They might have to rush an expansion to have any hopes of D4 having a high concurrent player count.

Games already dead but if blizzard listens to the gaming community (lol) and makes some drastic changes for season 2 this game might make a comeback but probably not.

This game is designed for children

The roll out has caused a lot of issues. Season 1 was not really season 1, and pre-season was a final beta. I think the game will have a boost around season 3.

Diablo 4 on twitch is dead as fk

It had less viewers at one point than Euro truck simulator 2.
When it gets less viewers than lawnmowing simulator 2007 the barn bros and the fellowship of haters can finally rejoice

There are many flaws with the game, but probably not another ARPG that makes sense to play so D4 will be around for many years to come. POE2 probably doesn't have the combat mechanics / game engine to compete, but hopefully I'm wrong there. Most ARPG players will be playing D4 for the next 5-10 years. On this site though, you get the sub section of d2 players who played the game for the economy above gameplay. This site is very skewed towards games with an economy, for these players, POE2 might be the more popular game. In the 90s, economy games were possible, now its hard to play them knowing I can spend a measly $100 to get everything I'd ever want in the game, so there's no point in grinding for stuff when you can buy it with your credit card.

You need to check out the new gameplay trailers for Poe 2. They improved combat and dodge mechanics significantly

I'd say it'll be dead a bit after poe2 releases.. like 3 months, or so. Poe2 was looking pretty good this last exilecon. The fact they're bringing over a lot of previous league mechanics into poe2 is just going to pack it with content at the beginning. . Idk unless they really pick it up with d4 I don't see it lasting long. They didn't have the best start either haha

Poe2 is over a year till release though
