I mean lets be honest it can't be endgame or else I'd have to quit D2 always pretty fast.

For me it's somehow the twinking.
I have a 87 Druid with the gear I wanted (Tempest Roar) and running through NMD 50s on hc.

I will never wear Temerity on my Rogue. It requires level 80 and I don't see me leveling up another alt that high because it takes like 50+ hours (playing without boosts, solo).

I thought I'll give it a try and alt f4'd after seeing I have to do the short quest line for malignant season again. The only thing that is good is that renown I don't need to do because I will get all paragon points at lvl 50 from my main.

But come on... This can't be the reason. I don't know what but something is missing. Most of the time it feels like a solo player game and I can't find others without thirdparty sites or discord, my items I find even if best in slot don't make me happy.

I wouldn't even be happy with runewords from D2 at this point. I find myself logging in, doing 2-3 nmd and qutting them after I forget to free a prisoner or 1 enemy across the dungeon that I forgot. And Legions are just huge Zergtrains and I am never lucky to see Mobs because they explode a MS after they spawned.

could of saved yourself like 200 hours if you just read the post a few weeks earlier lol. Im in the same boat with my 87 druid. Found all the gear etc. Tempest build. Do a few dungeons. Then boredom sets in. As a matter a fact. About too do a dungeon now knowing that nothing but a bunch of crap rares will continue dropping and i just sell em. Thats what the game is find "rares" sell em.


personally i think they screwed up by so many rares dropping every single second ~~~ it should of been a drop rate like 99% less. Given now it means absolutely nothing too find any items given they all do the same bs anyways.

and yes, the game totally feels like a totaly 1 player solo game entirely through. incredibly boring.

Don't forget in D2 for alts you had to do allover again rushing to act5 hell, Skill quests, stats quests, soulstone/gems quests, extra life/potion quest, resistances quests, socket quests, imbue quests.

D2 had leaderboard and was more difficult to go lvl 100.

There was not something better than D2 at that time 2000. D2 has nostalgia (we love our memories as children)

D2 Expansion at least had a lot more unique/runeword items that was giving extreme power to our characters
and although rare they were not as rare as D4 Uber unique items are.


D4 probably will increase the find chance for Uber unique and they will add more uber uniques these might help.

Getting lvl 100 in 150 hours is hm removing one goal (maxing)

It also has no trading and to be honest there‘s no point for this game to be an „online“ game. 😄

there is 80-100 lvl missing content like T5 and its itemisation for sure
i dont think d2 and 1000x meph runs is more enjoyable, it is all about nostalgia

naw it wasnt the meph runs that made d2lod enjoyable, it was the 50 different builds u could make across 7 very different classes. and all the items and crafting that went into it.
d clone hunts? uber trist runs? cows... key hunting... oh yeah then theres the pvp fpk melee tournament barb tournament ect.

or if u were like me and u just wanted to hunt people down while they were trying to level. we called it peekay

trade restrictions has killed the endgame pretty much as there’s nothing to endless grind for
but they don’t wanna have us play jsp so too bad

Blizzard’s fault for not only not innovating on the genre, on the contrary, they only made it a big solid pile of garbage salad that fooled people like you by making the game drag so slowly and tediously, this is why you realize after so long there is no endgame. You need a keen sense of perception and experience the genre to realize this game is a hoax right from the get go. Every arpg you play now is so similar because there is no innovation, so you play one arpg it’s like you played them all, so if you played d2 then you played all arpgs and d2 is enough because dev team nailed it perfectly with tweaks and a good expansion. If I was a dev I wouldn’t dare to take a risk in making an arpg these days. The genere at this point is just too boring. I think this made some sense in a way, because English not my first language but I try to convey to you the whole arpg picture best way I can.

Trading wouldn't save anything it'd just make things easier and more rewarding for a very small percentage of the customer base.

Yeah dunno about that either.

I dont know what made D2 special. Maybe nothing if I think about it and weird enough I played so many years back in 2004
