Option 2

Basing my answer of crit output and attack speed. Numbers were ran for option three but it was significantly lower than the other two so I left it out.

- Max Crit Damage

Option 1 crit max damage

4.17 x 29,984 = 125,033.28

9 attacks over ten seconds = 1,125,297

Option 2 crit max damage

4.50 x 27,099 = 121,945.5

10 attacks over ten seconds = 1,219,455

- Average Crit damage

Option 1 average damage = 27,258

Option 1 average crit damage = 4.17 x 27,258 = 113,665.86

9 attacks over ten seconds = 1,022,992.74

Option 2 average damage = 24,635

Option 2 average crit damage = 4.50 x 24,635 = 110,857.5

10 attacks over ten seconds = 1,108,575

The reason why crit was used as the defining parameter is because it is the most significant determining factor when calculating damage given that all other parameters are the same, for example, vuln core and int is practically the same for both 1 & 2. So then it comes down to crit damage as the defining factor.

And even with the 45% multiplier on option 3 it still would underperform.

That is damage-wise

I would only recommend #3 if you wanted more utility/resorce although it has zero bonuses for defense like increased chance to block or damage reduction so I don’t recommend that option at all.

Crit damage is found by multiplying the damage output of the skill by the crit damage multiplier found in the stats and materials tab however it does not reflect vuln crit damage or vuln crit overpower damage outputs which are those crazy big numbers you see in game. Your damage output from you main skill factors in your weapon damage. To prove this, look at your main skill damage before and after equipping your weapon.

The reason why ten attacks were chosen is because you are likely going to engage in ten attacks at a time. Although the more attacks there are, the greater the disparity in damage outputs of options 1 & 2 and the more number 2 will be the better choice because of it’s base weapon speed that results in more attacks over time which in turn results in more dps over a longer period of time.

If you are looking for higher 1 hit dps go for option #1. If you are looking for more damage output and more hits over the span of ten or so attacks go for option 2.

The findings were that option 1 hits at a rate of .90 attacks per second but deals more damage. However option 2 hits at a rate of 1.0 attacks per second dealing slightly less damage. This lead to the finding that option 2 actually deals more damage over time than option 1 because it hits more frequently, dealing more damage per second over a period of time

This is why it is important to do math.
