I'm thinking a druid, Necro has the hard hitting damage I want but doesn't sound like it has a lot of survivability

I liked the HOTA barb but all of the rebuffing gets kind of boring

Currently twisting blades rogue but I would prefer not to have to wait for secondary damage

I'm trying to find a build that has solid survivability, single shot potential on elites and doesn't require a bunch of prebuffs constantly being cast

Thinking druid but not sure which route to even go

Please guide me :-D

if you want a 1 button build, play necro.

most builds require the use of "prebuffs"

I hate being dependent on constantly having to cast booster spells, etc

It was my impression bone spear necros needed a lot of precasting also?

I've played all classes other than Sorc and Necro was most enjoyable so far. Barb was very fun pre nerfs but feels terrible now

i mean, if you aren't casting a bunch of buffs for yourself, you're casting a bunch of debuffs for the mobs... being a druid won't solve this problem.
but druids do have good survivability and some of the best dps there is...

Can you suggest a build for someone that doesn't require end game gear?

i found pulverize to go well with aspects you can easily get for the codex by doing dungeons. good place to start without much gear.
codex is pretty nice while leveling. you can easily put the same aspect back into the same slot as you find better rares.
here are a few...

Belfry Zakara <-- priority
Ferals Den
Sealed Archives
Whispering Pines
Conclave
Seaside Descent <-- priority
Endless Gates <-- priority

Keep an eye out for the Shockwave aspect too, it cant be obtained from completing a dungeon.
Sprinkle in some trampleslide once you get more aspects, then aim for some werewolf build if/when youre lucky enough to get a Tempest Roar.
