Longer is better. You get more damage for bosses and if you deal lethal damage, monsters explode anyway.
Allegedly damage types can double dip (mainly vulnerable). So if you deal vulnerable damage, they take the magnified damage, then if the monster upon the barber explosion is still vulnerable you get that increase damage again on the explosion. So if you’re running something like exploit glyph you want <3s so you double dip on vulnerable.
I can’t claim to have tested this. Just what folks are saying and the mechanics behind this make sense.
