Do you guys seriously think the D4 team watches that trailer and sit there and think . "holy shit , their game looks 100 times better than us"

Or do you think they have to much pride and think their game is far superior.

Just generally curious what yall think is going on in their heads.

I don’t even think D4 devs try to make the best they can, it‘s about minimal effort for maximum profit. I’m 100% sure blizzard devs are capable of demolishing GGG and make everything better and bigger(with there giant team and financial resources) but management won’t let them and everything is based around the dollar. Like doing 130 individual bosses for dungeons (1 each), it would make the game better but not rly affect sale numbers so it‘s not worth development cost. So what we get is tomb lord copy pasted 100 times…

Blizz can sell shit, everyone knows blizzard and ppl gonna buy it anyway. GGG is rather small and unknown so they have to put much more effort into there games, also the fact it‘s free to play makes it much more important to be good so ppl spend money on shop for MTX

they probably dont care about quality...i mean the target audience doesnt care about quality either so its all good zoomers are subhumans that feed on trash like goddamn raccoons or something

i think its nowadays all about advertising, marketing, business model, and exploiting of psychological factors to keep people in once the honeymoon stage ends. when you ask a d2 player why he likes the game, he says "because its fun", when you ask a poe player he usually says "because its complex". poe endgame is basically not even in poe, its in path of building. how to make something that works within the massive framework of mechanisms, and thats it. there is no endgame, there is just grind although d4 doesnt even have that so...yeah

what will actually happen 1 year from release: poe 2 will be played by the exact same people as poe 1; d4 will be played by no one

I doubt it, POE 2 looks terrible. The graphics are fucking awful.

Game play might be much different though.

Visually, and the game feel will be hard to beat when it comes to D4.

Quality of life and features POE is lightyears ahead.

The thing that keeps D4 devs from falling into depression is making more money than PoE.

The only thing blizz cares about currently is player retention and quarterly earnings reports(seasons). They will 100% release an expansion right before poe2 launches.

If the d4 team actually listens to the playerbase they might have a chance to stay relevant cause poe2 is forever away at the moment.

Didn't you watch the last campfire chat? The lead designer is terrified of updating anything in the game. His main method of design updates is changing a skill from 1.0% damage to 1.1% damage, anything else is terrifying him so much he can't sleep at night.

I just watched Poe 2 trailer, i must say it actually impresses me.
I haven't even played Poe yet, i did D4 and it was boring to me.
But Poe 2 looks like a game that i can play.
