I am sure you're more knowledgeable about the game then me or looking for some very specific affix or min/max.
Generally in my little experience I look for 3/4 item where the 4th affix Im going to roll has multiple options that I might "settle" with.
So for example if there are non-negotiable affix then I make sure they are on the 3/4. I.e. if I need vulnerable damage on an item I will never get a 3/4 base without that and try to roll that. Generally most 3/4 are pretty easy to find and cheap unless youre looking for trophy level items.
And when rolling, once I get a 4th affix that "qualifies" I can try a bit more to see if I can roll something better on it otherwise just keep it. So for example, if I am rolling for DR on armor and instead roll %Armor or +Life. I might just call it at that.
But Im sure youre already doing above right?
