Legitimate question.

I go out of my way to get renown without having to do them.

It seems to be trying to build in something from grindy from WoW without any actual reward.

I’d prefer not to. I clicked through some of the side quest commentary in the major towns at the beginning and just hope a few involve dungeons (and some do). Then those are the ones I do mostly by accident while completing dungeons.

Idk if the renown increase this season is enough to avoid them entirely but my guess is anyone wanting to 5/5 their renown will probably need a few in each region.

Snoop Dog is completing side quests.

He is everywhere.

I enjoy doing 'em. Dungeons though? Not so much.

BUT; If I can do a side quest attached to a dungeon; I will do it. 70 Renown vs 40/30 just seems more worth it.

Just for the renowns to unlock the paragon points

E: i activate some of them so when i do a dingeon i might sometimes as well complete a sidequest, i dont rly do them actively without a tree of whipsers closeby or a dungeon to complete

As post #5 said, do them for the renowns.


This way, when you start the next season you'll have an unfair advantage over newer players.

Some side quests are good to do for renown because their renown/time is better than doing a dungeon.

Maxroll is in the process of writing a renown speedrun guide which looks to include a lot of side quests.



Side quest renown does not carry over to another season, only alter and map exploration does.

ive been out of the loop. since you cant trade and theres no ladder, what advantage are we talking about again?

No they’re beyond worthless it’s pathetic

The renown/dungeon combo is pretty nice if you are going for thr 4 paragon points
