the Season quest needs to be done for each character, yes. It unlocks the malignant heart dungeons and such.

The renown shouldn't need to be redone on every character. the Skill Points, Max Obols, Potions and Paragon Points should be on any new character you make on the same server. The only thing you get for doing renown again is the exp from collecting it.

Altars and map discovery renown points carry over. Quests, waypoints, dungeons and strongholds do not. Levels 4 and 5 are also locked behind wt3 and wt4.
