Do I create a season character on xbox series x? There's no button. Just info telling me it exists and each character I create is still eternal

When I was making my character is has the options of seasonal or eternal after creation. I’m also stuck in the load screen after creating -_-

you need the update or u didn't finish the campaign if there is no option to select season character
