Hi,

I'm thinking of trying to put a build together using the new Aspect of Pestilent Points;

"every 3rd cast of Puncture is Poison imbued with 300% of normal potency" (that's when applied to 2h bow, base is 150% damage).

But I have a few questions about mechanics that I have no idea about.

1)
Do repeated applications of Poison imbuement simply refresh the duration of the DoT or stack?

2)
Does "+Basic skill damage" affect Poison damage over time from poison imbuement applied using a basic attack? Or, similarly, does "+core skill damage" affect poison imbuement damage?

3)
Any comments on my build idea? The spec is roughly here; https://d4builds.gg/builds/b6193c26-66b8-4e5a-927e-7916be931067/
It ignores crit + crit damage as it's been nerfed and I dont think it affects Poison DoT (or does it?)
It's focused not using a core skill, just spamming ultra-fast basic skill to stack poison damage, with CC too (planning to use the maliginant gem: "Creeping Death (Wrathful, Super): Your damage over time effects are increased by 30-40% for each different Crowd Control effect on the target. Unstoppable monsters and Staggered bosses instead take 110-130% increased damage from your damage over time effects.".
With all the stat allocation you save missing out on Crit + crit damage you stack Basic attack speed, poison damage, imbued skill damage, damage over time, damage to CC'd enemies etc.
I would also use Primary Puncture "every third puncture jumps to two enemies" which should work well with the aspect.

1) stack
2) I dont think they double dip they just increase the damage of the attack that the poison multiplier effects, also i dont think it uses your poison imbue charges but instead its like an extra effect, great way for getting poison for other aspects or reduced damage from poison when poison imbue cd is on.
3) You still want crit chance/damage and the aspect that refreshes poison imbue needs to crit. Look at the multiplier of your puncture, its 29%, while a level 1 twisting blades is 115%. You're not going to be doing much damage with it, imo its more for pvp since they like to max basic skills (unless it changed) but still use a core skill.

So.. puncture deals 2805-3428 damage for me, that's with my "+122.5% basic damage". Without the +122.5% basic damage it would do 1260-1540

Poison imbuement rank 9 applies 216% "base" damage over 6 seconds.

so is that 216% of 2805-3428 or 216% of 1260-1540? I guess the question is what is "BASE" damage.

The 2805-3428 includes damage from all sorts though, not just +basic damage but also dex and other modifiers. I tested this by removing 10 dex from paragon board and it reduced damage to 2787-3406.

I would guess "base damage" includes +basic damage, damage from dex etc, since otherwise the damage from poison imbue would be terrible.. But if it includes +basic damage & Damage from Dex etc, then would it also include crit?

So for example if my 2805-3428 crits for +188% damage, that's 8975 damage on average, would poison imbue take this damage and apply 216 of it (19386) over 6 seconds?
