There has been silent changes in the previous patch that were not mentioned in patch notes. Affixes priority during rerolls was one of them. This means the juicy affixes you were looking for had a favorable rerolling pool because MAX LIFE just like Vulnerable Damage and other good ones were considered core affixes and during reroll it was guaranteed to have one core stat option. It was remove on the previous patch resulting on pure RNG meaning that all rolls are random among the pool of all the trash affixes no one cares about. So yeah you can roll Max life on the ring but it might take so much gold that you will have to go grind for days or weeks to keep rerolling.
