That’s what happened to trading ingame, people cried about “pay to win” and it literally destroyed the game

ye pay to win in D3, no pvp existing... imagine thinking a pvm game with alot of rng elements is any competitive (you could argue that D3 season or POE races are competitive, i disagree, you can get lucky drop(s) and have a huge advantage, is that skill? no it's oviously not)
there's nothing wrong if you enjoy going SSF, but being against trading in general is just stupid tbh.

Idk if those guys realize that D3 is full of bots even without trading, they probably don't. They also probably don't realize that poe (a fucking FREE game) doesn't have any major problem with bots/rmt (it exists, but it doesn't harm anyones game experience dramatically. Imagine poe without trading, it'd be dead immediatly - just like D3, just like D4 - soon tm)

D4 should learn from d2 and d2r and keep trading open and get sales from game and skins.

Correct me if I’m wrong bob, but rares are end game? You’re able to remove modifiers from the legendary’s you can’t trade, smack them into an OP rare and trade it off?

Edit: having an open trading system just welcomes bots anyway, let’s be realistic we’d love for blizzard to hire a 10 man team to find and ban accounts daily, honestly having a system that tags bots isn’t difficult it’s having the man power to execute the bans. I don’t care about making FG, I’m happy playing the game and finding my own shit, few games are like that in todays gaming market. I’m okay with honestly having no ability to trade at all, if it defeats the botting issues I’m 💯 on it.

The thing with d2/d2r is that there is no end game, there is no incentive to min/max your character beyond a basic set of items that can MF. If I knew that keeping a ber rune would net me SOMETHING useful then instead of selling it I absolutely would absolutely keep it. So there is some balance to be had about between trading and incentivizing keeping items.

If you think about it. They would make more money if they did open trade. They could please everyone. Do ban waves. Have a sale. Then do it all over again. Everyone’s happy.
