thats possible.

but i've played at least an hour of the game myself, and the game feels so fluid its crazy.
i rememeber the first time i went into D3 (a game im not super fond of) i thought it felt really smooth. the game felt like it had so much potential, and early on, it did... until all the changes that ruined it.

same here. d3 devs suckered up and played victim, reversing all their rmah and spewed crap saying it was a bad idea. trying to gain back support. then they nuked trading entirely. that's when everything went to shit. d3 almost revived when rift it forward was a thing. which actually forced some kind of socialization of joining/creating games and made them have a purpose. then they got rid of all that shit too. newer woke games hate socialization. they think SSF is the way to go. d2 wouldn't even be 1% of where it is today if there was no battle.net. 95% of devs nowadays don't give a shit about their own values, they just want their salary. which sadly is incentivized to please their corporate overlords. it's all downhill from here.

next, you got insufferable indie devs working on their game pleading for $ on their kickstarter for a decade. when their game is finally released, hell already froze over. then they wonder why no one is playing their game or why is has no traction

sounds like you're talking about the DAOC remake that got funded like 11 years ago but they still havent released the game, adn even promised people 3 years ago refunds which still hasn't happened, and now they got 15 million more dollars, which makes no sense to me at all lol.
camelot unchained . (camelot unreleased the current working title and probably the forever title)

Why all the hate? I played the closed beta and as a long-time D2 fan who didn't really like D3, I am in love with D4

Games are allowed to evolve over time. I’m sure newer players will love d4 and to them d2 will be total antiquated shit. If you want to play 23 year old d2 no one is stopping you

i will at least run through the story 1 time just like i did for D3. The least we can do is give it a try.

Too old now to convince myself I'll like it. I'm sure the kids will get into it.

I'm personally going to wait for the game to release then check out a bunch of reviews to decide if I want to give them my 70 bucks. What I've seen and heard so far has not really impressed me. The combat I've seen looks weak, lots of visual things I'm not a fan of like damage indicators, enemies highlighted in red when mousing over, hoping those can be turned off. The trade system seems pretty bad. Worst case I'll just wait and see what other ARPGs come along. I saw an article the other day that some of the original Blizzard North staff are working on a new ARPG, so that could be interesting.
