False.
They witnessed all the backlash to D3 and concluded the problem was purely aesthetic and can be solved by copying the same D3 gameplay formula but using non cartoony models and a mud filter

they didnt even use the same engine as d3
its build from scratch and...
they are building the game for pvp and letting pve fall in to place
as oppose to d3 where they built around pve and had pvp as an after thought
