2,500,000 - 2 = 2,499,997

Think theyll be okay.

Lol I bet player count will be lower than preseason and will drop rapidly. They already fked up and as we see it takes ages for them to even fix or change simple things, not to mention adding extra content. Somehow I am even doubting season 2 is gonna be good, even if they promised a lot of things by then.

Day 1 it will probably be one of their highest played to date, but I agree it will drop rapidly, but more so because most people have lives and can't dedicate hours/days/weeks to playing a game (I'm not saying people who do don't have lives, just to be clear) - but to think some folks didn't request the day/friday off to play for the weekend?

I mean, I didnt, but I certainly have/would again for D2R.

Idk all my friends that bought the game probably won't even play or will play substantially less. I really doubt that the start of season 1 will have a higher count than the preseason release, because a lot of people already done with the game forever and another portion, including me, is disappointed by the useless patch and not going to grind the same thing all over again, even if was looking forward to hoping that they actually balance classes and add more endgame content. The real hype was the initial game release and I doubt as much players will be playing ever again, even if they will fix the game in a year or two, will be already too late and many players won't come back.

That's not possible, even speedrunning to 50 in the first 5 hours, you still can't hit 100 in 24 hours. And even if it was, who cares? The streamers are playing 100% effiiently and they've studied the game in and out. What does it matter if they do? There is no economy at all. If trading rares on jsp is your only goal and you want to be the first to do so, then yeah I can see this being a topic of discussion, but other than that, really - who cares?

Blizzard...Which is why we got nerf's...

it's by design. They got you to buy the game. Next you will buy an expansion.

Boycotting barely does anything ever, let's go throw a can of beans at a painting in a random museum to stop global warming while we are at it that'll teach em.

I almost bought it due to fomo then gameplay videos and streams started happening. Wasn't interested in the slightest after seeing the full game. The systems necessary in an ARPG to keep me hooked aren't even there. It would have been like lighting a c-note on fire. Usually game streams of amazing titles get me hyped, like Elden ring, which I went out and immediately purchased. Maybe in a few years they'll have added some fun arpg elements and a steep discount. Right now this game ain't it. I already had D3 sour the genre for me. This would only push me even further away from ARPGs.

you made the right move. as said, buying the game is all they need. a lot of companies nowadays think oh hey thanks for the $, guess i don't need to develop the game anymore. actually one reason why i like free 2 play with a mtx shop. if they don't really dish out new content, they arn't gonna get any more funds and doesn't really allow for lazy game design. now of course that depends on the company. some gaming companies are really good at that, but i'd venture to say most are not

This game has more sources of monetization (box+micros) than F2P games and their seasonal patch doesn't reflect that. They added some glorified legendary gems, reskinned dungeons, and a plethora of nerfs. I've seen F2P games that weren't that emaciated on content release. Season 1 should be a wake up call for players thinking they're going to get good support from this so called live service.

They also tried to kill eternal realms with the nerfs being counteracted via the new gems, forcing people onto seasonal. New game patch is balanced around gems that don't even exist for a portion of the player base. Seems like a scheme to sell battle passes.
