exactly! and it opens up concepts that are rarely ever seen in untradable online games nowadays, like "oh wow, i'll save this item for my friend!" or "wow, can't wait to sell this and get this item i need for my build". modern game devs hate these thoughts

I think you may have missed the point of my quoted comment.

I did but its not the bots keeping a game alive and will never be because if bots crash the market player will desert the game pretty fast as they can't trade because of overload of items and botter would not be able to sell botted items then they will leave too then the game will die.

But then if you go D3 RoS road game = dead on arrival cuz you get items so fast you are drowning on them and can't even trade them...

Obviously it wasn’t, blizzard offered no items there and it was just players trading

That’s what happened to trading ingame, people cried about “pay to win” and it literally destroyed the game
