well 95% of people are playing becuz they love to magic find

Finding good gear is indeed core of ARPG. They don't have to put this emphasis on legendaries for arbitrary reasons though, it makes itemization boring as fuck. And looting legendaries even more so certainly isn't end all be all of diablo :/ Trading, pvping, theorycrafting should all be there, too.

agreed. the mf aspect is actually my least favourite part of diablo 2

Blizz has been out of touch for a while...it's quite unfortunate.

I'm ambigious. I do like it, at times i can get frantic even. I do realize though that for some, it's all there is. So it must exist on a high enough level to please these people.
However though, the mf/pvm crazers that STRICTLY magic find, dont even trade and even less so pvp, they tend to not stick around for very long. Rather they move to new games to get their fix

I don't like that they're zero-ing in on legendaries, rares and magic being 'leveling stuff'.

He's talking about the skill tree passives. Active skills are permanent.
