It's alright I know most of them are just lashing out because D2R is on the verge of extinction. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion but we're all probably going to be playing D4 together regardless. I mostly come here to talk theorycraft but sometimes I gotta set the facts straight and weed out misinformation.

Even if it was on the verge of extinction don't you think that would be blizzard's fault for not dealing with bots like they promised on the release of D2R? So if they don't hold true to their dev talks about server security and prevention of bots why would you trust them on yet another game? At least be able to tell it like it is, that the company tosses things aside as soon as it isn't considered a certain level of profit.

The purity of the classic project was stated at one point to not involve tokens as an example, yet here we are. And they did use the word "purity".

Indeed, the "winners" of the first competition a game hosts always have an astrix next to their name.

Dota 2 Ti1 - These teams were a big part of the pro Dota 1 scene for years and years and this tournament was held while the game was still in closed beta.

League of Legends 1st World Championship - Chinese and Korean teams weren't invited (they didn't even have the game in their region I think?) It was the only Worlds in which a Western team has won.

Hearthstone - The first official tournament, only NA players were invited who had closed beta access, there was no point system really either they just invited the 8 most popular people who played the game basically.
