ARPG is a dead genre so they kind of have to make it crossplay.

Since it's crossplay they need to skip out on some features that are burdensome on console, like I've said before I'm kind of surprised they have trading at all.

poe did it correctly. gave console players their own little trade shit in-game. instead of completing ruining the entire itemization and trading for the etire game for everyone. other companies should do the same then.

don't make pc players suffer because lazybone boomers are too busy playing on their couch eating haagen-dazs

Poe isn't crossplay.

You gotta see it from a business point of view, Blizzard is a big company now and PC gamers are a small market, I expect all of their new games going forward to be mobile or crossplay.

You may not like it and I'm not a console dog either but that is their target audience.

Yeah they're trying to make a great game for their target audience.

I know the J2p hivemind doesn't want to hear this but trading is kind of irrelevant there's many great games with no trading even in the ARPG and MMO genre. A lot of people preferred Diablo offline, Poe SSF and Last Epoch before it even had multiplayer for examples.

Trading was always a staple feature for me, building new friendships online, then being able to pass down gear, or getting hyped because you found something that was valuable

It was never about RMT, nerd coinz, for me and many others trading is just human nature, not being able to do this only hurts the players

It goes both ways, creating a system where you have to trade to efficiently progress hurts the players that don't have time to trade or simply don't want to.

I've always found trading to be quite tedious and boring, when the grand exchange came out in Runescape I was so relieved how much easier it was to trade and make gold but then I realized I could be doing this type of stuff for real on the nasdaq.
I also made a ton of gold playing the AH in New World.

Anything prior to the introduction to AHs was almost unbearable for me, get me the fuck out I just want to slay monsters.

The scummy drop hackers, scammers, dupers, RMTers, botters, and bad actors in general were all extra feces on the dung pile.
