I may check them out for another playthrough for nostalgia sake but they were so slow lol.

D3 grew on me, turning into a few day event with some friends most seasons. It was the start of mega-casual arpg gaming. I hate infinite scaling (I think it's lazy) but it seems to have stuck.

I wholeheartedly believe d4 sold on hype alone. They've had the last year to bring the game from a glorified beta ($100 beta that is), to something that at least has a general direction (gearing, bossing, "content" etc.).

To me, it feels intentional - they released it in an utter dogshit state to 1) test the waters, and 2) prove a point: people will eat shit if it's sold in a nice box. Here we are a year later, and because of this strategy, they were able to sell another $100 game, most of which should have honestly just been included in the base game.

I dunno man. My brother is a GameStop regional guy and he said his d4 xpansion presales were pretty good. Way better than he thought. But he also told me he sells a bit of d4.

Not that GameStop is a good judge in this digital age but I’d assume if they are doing well digital probably is too. But I dunno.

^^^

All assumption. I have no clue other than what I’m told.

Best way I can explain how I feel diablo is, is like when you go to a restaurant and order something because it sounds good, and then it sucks. You go back a year or two later and forget that you didn't really like it, or that it wasn't that good, and order it again. Or when you just order the same thing on the menu, because it's consistent.

I mean I preordered d4 xpac, as I'm sure tons of people with my sentiment did. The game just isn't great, but it's decent now, and a filler. To me, it's like a glorified d3 experience lol.

One of my top complaints with d4 is lack of build diversity. Some classes have legit no real end-game builds, and others have maybe 1-2. They did this with d3 for a while, basically only having 1-2 semi-viable endgame builds to push with. It started getting better, but definitely took some time.

D4 is the mcdonalds of games...yea sure, they sell a lot, but it's not because of its quality.

Not sure when people will learn that high sales doesn't mean a game or product is good.

I Stopped Eating McDonald’s for 5 years Now b)

I genuinely like the world more than anything and I’m invested in the Lore/Story (I read the books and short stories too).

But after being invested in the series since 97 it’s just part of me. It’s sad I know but it is. It’s my main series I play. Diablo and Borderlands.

They were still over 3million monthly. D2 NEVER reached that after a year of existence. Neither did D2R.

These numbers are straight up fake, blizzard never shared statistics. There are absolutely zero data available to prove it.

What are you talking about? Back in June they literally said over 10 million players played and over 3 million concurrent. Go Google. Also spend more time on the official forums than jsp.

PS

Of course they don’t give “official” weekly, monthly stuff and only quarterly. They don’t have to it’s healthy. You start worrying about things on a weekly monthly basis when you are dying or In maintenance mode.

Let’s be real. Bottom line ok?

Over 1billion in counting of revenue. 150 million of which is micro transactions. (it’s safe to say after xpac pre orders we are easily over 1 billion in SALES revenue)

https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/diablo-4-has-made-dollar1-billion-and-counting-for-blizzard-and-a-huge-chunk-of-that-comes-from-devilish-microtransactions

Closest competitor? PoE? 80+ million in profit. It’s not even close. D4 is the current king in the genre for active games.

D4 sold on hype alone
.
If it was called Dyablo instead, and no one knew what it was it would sell 50 copies based on honest reviews.

D4 is trash, for gamer couch dads who play 15 mins a day. The McRib of gaming

A stain on the great legacy of D2.

im actually happy with the expansion, progress is harder or may i say better earned then what it was, it use to be so easy to grind to 100 just put it on max diff and kill the best density, the power creep is perfect to keep moving difficulties, umm yea nothing bad to say honestly, anyone who is is just a diablo hater an dsnt actually play the game if i had to guess
