a lot of amazing games nowadays. it s normal that life as well as enjoyment patterns change. Otherwise we d all still be playing duck hunter and tetris.
if you don t like to game anymore it means you have other things you enjoy in life more than gaming.

I personally have a lot of fun in many games nowadays including D4. Most of the time this has something to do with the fact I am meeting my friends online and we roflpwn each other in various genres. (apex, fifa, cod, starcraft, warcraft, D2 & 4 etc. )

Now and then I enjoy me some good story game like horizon, elders, cyberp, bg3 aaaaand so on. I cannot game and enojy for longer than 4 hours just because I got all the other things in the back of my brain ... wife, kids, work, football (aka soccer), drinks, grilling etc...

What ruins it for me is when I start hearing about all the predatory micros a game has before it's even released. You used to not have to vet a game for increased grind mechanics to force people onto shops. In game systems are tampered with in order to drag out content, frustrate players psychologically, and funnel those shop purchases. It's gradually become worse over the years where players wait and try to manage their expectations until these systems are unveiled. You also have to check whether or not a game is infested with bots and cheating. I think that's why I'm starting to gravitate towards single player games. The war against botters seems to be lost and there isn't really such a thing as a normal functioning trade economy. Anywhere there's money to be made, they will program bots to inevitably ruin it for everyone. These problems break immersion, and the novelty of a game is also broken.
