I hope the expansions fail because that team is not good at making Diablo games. It would be a giant waste of time to not shift gears, get a new team, and move on to Diablo 5 instead of some ten year plan like halo infinite had. The first xpac needs a low retention rate so we can move on from this corporate assembly line garbage.
I'll probably be done with ARPGs by the time D5 is ever released though unless poe 2 is some sort of rebirth of the genre.
I think it is exactly what they are doing, they just have strict calendar for releases, from same people. Several expansions for 3 - 5 years per year, and then diablo 5 release (another garbage game).
