My thoughts exactly. The expansions are most likely 95% finished with minor tweaking...and they were most likely finished when D4 first launched.

No wonder it feels like half a game. They made several partitions for seasons and expansions instead of releasing what they had probably. I have a feeling they're going to have to release the first expansion for free though considering the amount of player attrition and lost revenue. Anyone would be a fool to invest another dollar into such an undercooked product unless they hide all the QoL fixes behind xpacs.

my friend's neighbor's uncle mentioned that you'll be able to pay an extra $40 to play the expansion packs five days earlier than more financially challenged people. always nice when a company is considerate enough to offer such opportunities!

you could really feel they're holding back content and want to give it in small fractions over time, like story parts and features that D3 already had

Btw yes, that's interesting. But I don't think diablo 4 will generate some where close revenue to wow. Doesn't look like good times for blizzard.

Still they invested a lot, I don't think they are fully happy with financial results.

I hope the expansions fail because that team is not good at making Diablo games. It would be a giant waste of time to not shift gears, get a new team, and move on to Diablo 5 instead of some ten year plan like halo infinite had. The first xpac needs a low retention rate so we can move on from this corporate assembly line garbage.

I'll probably be done with ARPGs by the time D5 is ever released though unless poe 2 is some sort of rebirth of the genre.
