Hi guys, I am not very familiar with D2, however my understanding is that there are so many bots on it because Blizzard wants it that way. They make money off of the botters, as in, they ban them once in a while, and then botters have to buy fresh copies of D2.
However, if D4 contains in-game transactions or cosmetic shops that people can spend additional money on, then their happiness with the game becomes much more important to Blizzard, and I believe Blizzard will try much harder to fight bots. As long as the revenue generated in-game from real players is greater than that through the resale of the game to botters, Blizzard will guard their game. This isn't blind faith in Blizzard. It's about following the money and watching companies act in their best interest.
Of course it is, but understanding it requires knowledge of basic economics.
However, it is enough to look at the way these people talk to understand that they probably work on some production line or in typical physical work, and the only economy they have had contact with is the one on d2jsp.
