Hi, hot take right now but I mostly like this patch, it's a small w in my book.
1. They adapted the level scaling for the noobs who complained about it, not something that really effects me because I'll be fighting mobs higher level than me the entire time just like last time anyway.
2. Big nerfs to crit dmg and vulnerability. GOOD. A very high percent of all meta builds were abusing these 2 things leaving no room for other builds. These are both probably still too strong multipliers but we'll see what happens.
3. Lvl req capped at 60/80 for Sacred/Ancest. Good for you traders and also good for giving hand-me-downs to alts.
4. XP nerfs and death to power leveling. GOOD. Getting +25% XP for killing a monster 3 levels higher than you was stupid, 3 levels higher than you is absolutely nothing, you should be getting crazy rewards for killing mobs 10+ levels higher than you not 3.
And of course fuck power boosters, this isn't D2, stop trying to afk all your levels.
5. RIP normal dungeon spamming for XP. This was already on its way out but this patch solidifies it.
I think all that stuff is good and now for the bad.
1. Pumping up more offense and taking away from defense. DOGSHIT. This is something I don't like about PoE, I don't want to run around and 1shot everything or get 1shot myself, it's very very very boring.
2. Barbs look fucking garbage, I played HotA in HC last season and it didn't feel that great, no chance I'm rolling a Barb this season unless they get some SERIOUS help.
3. Sorc looks to be in a similar boat and the new Sorc unique that makes your tp teleport to a random place instead of the place you choose? Sounds like garbage.
All in all I think the crybabies are blowing these nerfs a bit out of proportion just because they have the perspective of abusing OP stuff a day earlier.
I'll be playing Rogue this season and maybe roll a Necro after if someone makes a top tier minion build with the new Malignant.
1) the way they changed world scaling is extremely idiotic. It's not going to fix any of the issues people had with it, which is that the early to mid leveling experience feels like garbage because as you level you get weaker. Making shit easier once you are high level and have tools to deal with high level monsters is the exact opposite of what they should've done
2) the nerfs to crit and vuln won't change anything about what people use because the way d4 calculates damage is fundamentally flawed. They will still be the most powerful and most used stats, just lower now.
3) I don't really care about this
4) this is a really stupid change in every way possible. It already took a fairly long time to hit 100 with the XP the way it was. This seems like they are over correcting way too hard. Want it to max out at +10 instead of +3? Sure that's fair, but to also nerf the increase down to 15% is silly. Also why do you care if people want to skip some of the boring leveling stages with their alts? It literally has zero impact on you whatsoever. It's insane that you care about how other people choose to play.
I don't really care about the rest of your post, but you say you're going to play rogue and I'd just like to say that rogue was probably nerfd the hardest out of all the classes. So have fun with that.
