after playing thousands of hours of d2, poe, d3, and recently lost ark, ive realized trading for everyone kinda just takes away from enjoying the game. it endorses p2w, bots, playing to make money rather than to enjoy, and just creates this huge gap of the top % of players who whale for best in slot pieces with the players that dont have extra money to spend on buying gear. Yes, they can get lucky, find some good items and trade it, but theyll always be behind a p2w player or someone on jsp with 100k+ fg that can get anything he wants in minutes. Playing d2r again made me realize that, and even though i made 20k+ fg off it I realized that's all i got from d2, i just played to farm fg mindlessly. It's fine for d2r since thats how i always played it since i was a kid, but for d4 maybe trading not being 100% for every single item will be healthier for the game, but idk just my thoughts. I both love and hate trading sometimes its hard to say what's better.

but as a competitive person, I compare my character to other chars. Levels, gear, damage, pvp performance. Gear relates to all of that, and someone slapping me bc of a full set of gear that they bought thats just better than mine that I didnt buy sort of just ruins the experience lol

yes true but none of that matters when you, lets say, go to pvp and that person shows up lol. also pvp is actually rewarding in d4 theyve shown (to get cosmetics), so theres incentive to be able to have a good pvp character. 20-30% weaker because of being f2p just feels like shit in pvp :/

I preached for free trading for the longest time but after listening to blizzards actual reasoning behind I can support the following as well:

Bind on trade
Bind on equip.

I personally believe bind on trade would work better than boe.

If anyone actually cares about trading then go on the forums and speak. The diablo team is actually listening, trading is not set in stone currently.

The only thing that is 100% is that it will not be free trading, so people should stop wasting time and breath and start trying to advocate for the next best option.
