d3 was way more fun at launch due to RMAH - it gave a reason to play. a reason to farm. To sell gold so you can obtain the godly items for your build or find some gg crossbow or trifecta ring and sell it for $$

Then there was inferno being insanely difficult so the game wasn;t just a walk in the park. You had to find efficient farming methods and kite for 10min to just kill an elite for a chance at a legendary.

D4 is just super easy and then once you are level 60 you are basically done with the game unless you want to spend another 100 hours trying to min/max one roll on your gear and play the slosh fest to reach 100, which offers no rewards.

Its not fair to compare D3RoS with D4 bc its lightyears better. having an actual leaderboard and strategy in GRs added longevity to the game. And some of the season themes were quite fun to play.

I would go as far to say it isn't quite fair to judge d4 "yet" because all those changes to make d3 great game way later -- but at the same time, d4 took none of the things d3 did right and added them. they basically pushed out trash on purpose so they can release QoL changes already in D3 at a later date to charge us more. its quite scummy

Yes of course rmah d3 was amazing.. what did that last 3 weeks? Then it was truly trash until RoS

Rmah was still up when I quit after 7 months.

Ngl I think this game won’t survive the end of the year

d3 died with rmah shut down and that was like 10 month down the road and they turned d3 singeplayer only.

d4 is dead after 2 month, this isnt rly much of a hot take, D4 is a joke.

funny how blizz always takes away the things that have the most player fun. rmah = too much fun detected

rift it forward = too much fun, bye bye

trading in arpgs? = gold and rares only!
