The game is pretty good, but they are going to have problems retaining players without a robust trading market. They'll end up with the same problem D3 had and then start adding timers to things and making it all esporty. Will just die off.

The end game for games like this is usually pvp or better and better gear (with skills and stats and what not)

Keeping people interested in the game REQUIRES there to be potential to find that amazing gear and that it exists already to be traded.

THey change the name of the genre so they can justify the cashgrab. THey literally only started working on d4 after the diablo immortal annoucement got boo'd at blizzcon . THey rushed a game asap to hold their reputation and make 100 million dollars in the process. I do wonder if most players will eventually migrate back to d2r or if they will be working on a d4 expansion or d5 in the years to come.

Maybe d5 will be similar to d2r. All they have to do is put a team on it and work on it for a few years and they will have another cash grab but with longevity.

Yeah, I mean people complain that open trading results in games becoming P2W. But D3, the non trading Diablo game, is just as P2W as D2. You simply buy a bot and then get the highest paragon levels. When they do banwaves, the entire leaderboard is virtually wiped out. You don't get rid of cheaters by eliminated beloved systems. The cheating is still going to happen. If Blizzard is smart, they'll recognize this.

I bet the statistics would be a lot different if that poll would be on blizzard's twitter or something like that.

And no, I'm not against free trading. I just find it naive to think thats what everyone wants after making a poll about it jsp lol
