Except gold is also duped, so are boss mats, you're hardly participating in this unless you buy(which is TOS violation) or you dupe yourself(another TOS) violation.
You'd be amazed how easy are Blizzard to ban common folk and leave actual illigimated actors alive.

This hell need to end, its ruining all healthy experiences in games that are meant to reward grinding for rare loot. I encourage anyone who either know the "method" or saw it with his eyes to report it in detail to Blizzard, do it on alt acc if that helps. No party is winning in shutting down the economy, just handful of most despicable outcasts.

You don't necessarily participate if you buy mats with selffound gold. At least to my understanding.
What Blizzard is terrible at is 1) fixing the issue 2) making sure that no exploits happen again or at least keep the ones that occured in check and 3) save the economy from collateral damage

Concerning 3) I remember they did several general wipes of mats. That's the worst idea because also legit players are punished. That way I lost some mats twice. When I was posting about the issue in the Blizzard forums some people accused me of cheating although I was just playing a lot D4 and also storing some mats from my brother.
The underlying issue is that Blizzard has not assigned unique IDs to mats so they can't figure out which ones are legit and which are not. They would need address this issue or any season is threatened to be economically ruined.
