You must not play them a lot. Isometric ARPGs. The only two I can think of more grindy than this monstrosity of unnecessary aspects is PoE and SSF D2. Even Grim Dawn was less grindy than this game.

GD takes much longer to get to end game. Much longer to gear. LE, same thing, AND there are numerous builds to try. D4 offers maybe 3 or 4 builds MAX per class that are worth a shit, and usually only 0-2 that will be any good at ubers etc..

Sorry man, the game is the most casual arpg, it's targeted to casuals. Just accept it.

Oh, and yea, the arpg genre is grindy, but when you can offer the "experience" for much less time investment (D4), you draw them in. Flash a trailer and some gritty cut scenes.

It's the most casual, decently known arpg. It's the mcdonalds of arpgs.

Commms right dude... high sales numbers doesnt mean the game isnt shit... we saw it with d3, and it happened all over again with d4. we're just as much to blame since we keep giving them our money.

That’s opinion though if concurrent player base doesn’t back it.

This is a d2 fanboy site it’s not like I don’t expect most HERE to agree with him. It’s still like saying the MAJORITY of Diablo players are lying when more people play 1 than EVER played the other.

Whether I think D2 is better or not is irrelevant when the numbers after over a year in existence don’t back my claim.

it may be opinion, but theres an underlying truth behind it given d4s player drop off rate... which was something like a staggering 95% after launch.

youre right, how you feel about d2 is irrelevant, but all i was pointing out was that sales numbers alone dont mean that product isnt lacking in quality. and in this case, its lacking considerably. they cant even launch the expansion without issues...

and there is also a consensus that d4 is for couch dad casuals... you will have a hard time finding anyone who says d4 has anywhere near as much depth as something like poe or d2. and theres nothing wrong with that, just dont pretend like it isnt.

I hope you understand you are comparing 20+ year old game with mutli billion dollar project, where only marketing budget is higher than D2 budget. Even planet population is now higher.

Is is not new heights - it is just mass market product, I think they should not call it Diablo, they should just made new franchise, like it was with Overwatch for example.

no, gotta be fair with the arguments.

it is reaching new heights sales number wise, thats undeniable. but that isnt a good indication of the quality or the lack of.

Strongly agree here, quality of the game is just extremely, extremely low. Looks like devs just don't understand what they are doing.

I said it has a higher CONCURRENT population than D2 EVER had. I’m comparing D2 at its prime to D4 at its current low.
