I liked Diablo 2 the most because when it first came out, you could get that dial up connection and login to battle.net and man, the cool factor of multiplayer online rpg experience playing this was just beyond words...
We're talking about 24 yrs ago.. Think about the era.. PC Master Race, checks notes.. what consoles were out then? Answer - Playstation 2

I loved Playstation 2 games and owned the early Playstation, but these games were not online multiplayer in the year 2000....
Oct 30, 2001 — The earliest Playstation 2 game to allow online play was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, published by Activision, released in 2001.
The PC Master Race in the year 2000 played online Diablo 2
This was the Alpha Omega of gaming, there really wasn't anything like it, nevermind the expansion because just Classic Diablo 2 at the time was the pinnacle of gaming in 2000.
So, in conclusion D2 classic, at the time, in the year 2000, was insanely addicting, fun, replay-ability was high, and ultimately the experience of playing with lots of players online was beyond epic for it's time.
If you were there for these years of gaming, just know you are blessed in ways unimaginable, the games coming out then and the creativity of that era was the best times ever created, ever..
When you compare D2 classic with D2 lord of destruction is somewhat unfair if you don't encompass the history of events, of course just comparing the two is easy, LoD wins hands down.
I feel bad for those who missed the bus and didn't play D2 on release, I can see why Crossed is stuck in his ways, he never experienced peak gaming, you can't rehash and relive that experience, unless you've been there, sorry!!
My top games on this list are ssx and timesplitters wish they would release more! so many hours played split screen on small crt tv with my brother and friends
