items being tradable is what made the low drop rates in d2 work. you could trade away your super rare item for another but you cant do that in d4 and are left to suffer killing the same boss over and over again for a 2% chance at that shako.
and yes, i agree, you kill the same boss over and over again in d2 also, but alteast you get to trade away your accumulated wealth for the item youre looking for.

what am i supposed to do with the 4000x godslayers ive got after i find my shako?

d4 is a fucking joke. might be worth playing by season 28...

Exactly. Whether it’s fun/good/etc can be debated. But Uber uniques in d4 (now that duriel target farming exists) are exponentially more common than rare d2 items. If items are tradeable they have to be more rare, otherwise the economy collapses in hours and nobody is happy. If items are account they have to be more common, otherwise you end up with d4 prior to Uber bosses and nobody is happy then either.

Folks can like or dislike parts of the system, but they’re very different systems.

Yeah... like when they introduced the new ring I was excited... until I found out it's a 50% drop rate lmao... farmed the ring for literally 2 hours haven't looked back

I mean 2% isn't bad at all. It really just comes down to myself and a couple others here being incredibly unlucky. Statistically, if one goes on rate for their drop, they're looking at roughly 50 kills for an uber which isn't a lot tbh. All good now though because I have DB and GF lol.

Reading this post makes me want to do a duri rotation lol.
I feel like when I buy runs from someone with probably duped sets the chance is so extremely low. Before dupes happened and we were splitting runs I found things, like I got doombringer in probably 20 to 50 runs.
Since the duping started it’s been next to nothing with a couple Andy’s I think that’s all. I’ve rolled on 4 chars and I’m guessing my runs are in the mid hundreds my count so far is:
3 Andy’s
1 shako
1 doom
1 starless

I’ve farmed for lycanders a lot and no luck on both characters.

If there is no trading I think Blizz needs to give player some sort of Santa Claus Christmas Wish list where all Uber Uniques have 100 points each and you can redistribute them to raise/lower the drop chance of the items.
