only bought this phone-tier game because someone i'm close with irl wanted me to join them, i told them it was a waste of money but we both spent it anyway
i tried to give it a fair shake even after they had stopped playing but the game is really just not entertaining for more than the first act or two story-wise. the endgame is just becoming accustomed to your class's often linearly utilized gimmicks. also, it really made it clear that this is a game which favors those who don't care to learn about the game's mechanics (which are ridiculously obfuscated with no official detailed explanation for many stats) and just went with their fav streamers' meta builds - as if it were in part designed to get the player base watching as many ads as possible

. also, maybe it's just me but this shit where you need to be in discord servers to effectively coordinate/socialize with other random players is the worst. D2R is very much the same way since they completely mutilated the /f list commands in favor of a gimped, glitchy, shitty bnet launcher chat system. the way they are utilizing auto-instancing and all that garbage really doesn't mesh well with what i expect in any mmo game, much less a diablo title.
needless to say, i expect much better from anything related to entertainment for the price but i knew what was coming since playing one of the rounds of the beta. based on that experience alone, i'd have never bought it under normal circumstances. to add to this retrospective, i hope whoever decided mephisto should be a mutilated spiritual wolf guide while diablo was just plain absent got
fired. like, boss dumped their stuff on the floor and they had to pick it up in front of everyone fired.
