Yeah I was gonna say graphics cards have been getting scalped for a long time like ps5s, and people were buying up the entire inventory with bot accounts to use for crypto. Only recently has it normalized, probably due to the fomo in crypto waning along with it's profitability in mining. People like the peace of mind consoles give where you put in a game and it, as Todd Howard says "all of this just works". There's something to be said about couch gaming being more relaxed and less prone to CT using bad posture on a keyboard. I think the biggest feature pcs even have left at this point is more social features and mods along with not being charged to play multiplayer - aka xbox live or playstation plus. The other thing I really like though is the deals you can find for pc on steam sales, but afaik console stores are starting to match those deals during seasonal events. The real exception to being able to find savings on sales being Nintendo as they have evergreen titles. Zelda now is the same cost as Zelda 5 years ego etc.

There's so much frustration to be had trying to troubleshoot persistent but random pc issues sometimes and it could just end up being a bad port, header, or some other obfuscated issue. The quality assurance on pc parts varies also because there is a much wider range of options, not all with the same QA teams. Even though I've built pcs myself over the years I've had pretty bad luck with ordering things like laptops as they were prone to hardware issues and lots of random crashing that I would try to troubleshoot.

You can buy an entire console for less than one pc part when you find them on sale. Now series s isn't amazing but can still be used for game pass and it's been on sale for 150usd before. The full priced units (x & 5) are still cheaper than most quality gpus. And then you still need to buy the rest of the computer.

People are also using them for emulation machines too which is nice if you know how to set it up.

Yeah idk I might be way out of the loop but $700 for the PS5 and controllers seems less than the $1.5-3k I’d spend on a gaming rig. The last time I build one in like 2015 it was already almost 2k for a mid set up.

Maybe I’ll look into it.. but it seems like that phase of my life is over. PC gaming is too time consuming 😂

Pretty sure mid range gpus are still expensive enough even after crypto mining crash where consoles are still a decent budget option. Nvidia has definitely gotten worse in pricing their midrange lineup over the years due to crypto. Don't even bother with used gpus as they were probably run 24/7 by miners.

I haven't used any pc part picking apps in a while though so maybe I'm wrong in regards to pricing, but more and more people are using the console option especially microsoft and steamdeck for the potential emulation side. If you don't care about emulation though PS5 is probably better for exclusives I guess, but ms keeps buying more and more studios so that may change not too long into the future. They already added ATVI into their library after the merger finishes. It'll be funny when they rework wow for consoles and it's on game pass.

It's a pretty fun game if you're into things like Dead by Daylight. Just a cat and mouse killer/survivor game. That reminds me DBD licensed Aliens recently.

I spent 100$ on bg3 and quiet after 6 hrs. Game is fucking anoyying and boring. You walk around talking for 30 mins just to barely get into some turn based nonsense which half ghe time your too shit to fight them. Then you gotta load from last save point.

Must say, just started elden ring and it absolutely shits on both d4 and bg3
